Alton and Lauren are the owners of Caterpillar Café & Canteen, as well as Salute Café & Eatery, both situated in beautiful Pukekohe.
We have over 20 years each in New Zealand and Australian hospitality industries and have worked in, set up and managed many of Auckland and Sydney’s premier and iconic venues.
We returned from Australia having been inspired by working with household name venues such as Longrain, Apollo and Sean’s Panorama.
We are both passionate foodies and love nothing more than sharing our favourite flavours with friends, family, and our community. Our passion for food translates directly to the offerings we tempt our customers with. We have a selection of classics and items that “push the boat” in terms of experience and taste. Our service style is attentive and professional, yet always casually relaxed, and most importantly genuine and friendly.
Our mission has always been to create a hub for our local community to gather together, eat, drink and create memories. For the last three years, we have been fortunate to really nurture that and look forward to continuing to do so.
Caterpillar Café has created a following of wonderfully caring, engaged, and positive locals who come in to join us as a part of their daily lives, allowing us to get to know them and their families as they get to know us also…perfect!
